When we travel, we are always looking for fun treats for the kids to have in the car when we’re on our trips. Convenience store stops on the road are expensive for even small treats. When we can buy our snacks ahead of time, it’s definitely a win for our family wallet.

So when I received a message from Snyder asking us to sample their line of puffs, I thought sure. Snyder of Berlin has a great reputation for snack food, so these puffs will probably be pretty good. And they’re gluten free? Even better! Since one of us has celiac, we’re always on a quest for GF treats that taste similar to what the regular eaters eat. The kids will like them, I thought. We’ll give them a try.

Oh my goodness.

Here’s the problem. They were so good that my kids hardly got a taste. But my stomach? It was sooooo happy to be eating these snacks.

We got four different kinds to try: Three Pepper Cheese Puff-n-Bites, Cheese Puff-n-Twistz, Hot Puff-n-Twistz, and Salted Caramel Puff-n-Bites.

I love a good spicy snack. The problem with so many of them is that they’re not actually spicy.  Not true for these Snyder’s products. They had a kick! Bot the Hot Puff-n-Twistz and the Three Pepper Cheese Puff-n-Bites had great flavor to them. The Three Pepper had just the right amount of peppery spice, and the Hot ones were truly hot. I had to keep a glass of water with me while I ate them, which I loved. Much better than most other spicy snacks that I’ve tried.

The Cheese Puff-n-Twistz were just the right mix of puffy cheesiness and light crunch. Perfect for snacking poolside, which I may or may not have done while my children swam.

The Salted Caramel ones truly tasted like caramel. They were very different from the other three options. Sweet crunchy treats like that are not something that I’m used to, so it took a few bites to wrap my head around the flavor. But it really was impressively salted caramel-flavored. Honestly, they were the least favorite of the four for me, but only because I prefer the saltier cheese and spicy treats. The flavor was right on.

Warning: Just make sure you order extra for your kids so they’ll actually have some to enjoy after you get through with your bag. Or bags. No judgment from me and my orange fingers.
